THEME: University for the ASEAN Community: Knowledge-based Prosperity, Harmony and Sustainability

Simposium Kebudayaan dan Kerjasama Indonesia – Malaysia 2015, SKIM XIV 2015 will be more meaningful to researchers in many ways with the establishment of a joint cooperation with the Malaysian Social Institute (ISM). The theme “University for the ASEAN Community: Knowledge-Based Prosperity, Harmony and Sustainability” is chosen, in line with the common desire to strengthen the communities of the two nations and to improve the social policies of the respective nations through the dissemination of knowledge. The role of the university should be relevant with the aspiration of the local community and thus, play a positive role in the development of the country and the nation. Hence, SKIM XIV will be a platform for scholars from different academic areas of expertise to present new ideas, share new findings, and stimulate discussions and new ideas based on the conference sub-themes to find a solution to empower the communities of the two nations and to improve their well-being.

OBJECTIVES
1.      To strengthen the roles and contributions of the two countries for the benefit of their respective communities so that they can contribute to the dissemination of knowledge that would help in translating various forms of transformations for the community;
2.      To stimulate a research culture through knowledge transfer and to generate wealth and harmony for the well-being of the local community
3.      To be the driving power in achieving the aims of ASEAN COMMUNITY 2015 through strategic networking such ASEAN University Network (AUN), Asian Public Intellectuals Alumni Network (APIN) and Taillores Network

SYMPOSIUM OUTCOME
1.      Selected symposium papers will be published in UKM’s and UNPAD’s SCOPUS-indexed journals of UKM and UNPAD.
2.      Symposium papers that do not meet the SCOPUS-indexed journal criteria will be published in UKM’s, ISM’s and UNPAD’s refereed journals.
3.      Papers presented at SKIM XIV will also be compiled as books and published by Penerbit UKM and UNPAD.
4.      Softcopies of all papers presented at SKIM XIV will be included in the symposium proceedings in CD format with ISBN number.

DEADLINES
1.      Full Paper Deadline: 15 July 2015
2.      Acceptance Notification: 15 August 2015
3.      Camera-ready Paper Deadline: 30 September 2015
4.      Early Bird Deadline: 15 September 2015
