The Definition of Z
Generation: A Systematic Review Perspective

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to 1) perform a
systematic review of studies examining the definition of Z Generation, and 2)
make recommendations based on the findings. The systematic review was limited
to the definition of Z Generation in the context of human being. Literature
searches were conducted using predefined keywords in four databases. A total of
113 potential papers were identified using four
search engines: Ebscohost, Sage
Publication, ProQuest and Emerald Insight. The analysis of the articles or
literature review focus on the definition of Z Generation by three
perspectives: birth year, special characteristics and other names of Z
Generation. The definition of Z
Generation by birth year ranged from 1990 until today. They born and grow up
during the proliferation of web 2.0 and digital technology. They are also
called as Millenials, Digital Natives, Google Generation, Next Gen, DotNets,
iPod, Xbox and New Silent Generation. Z Generation is the young, energetic and
multi-talented generation. Special program should be planned for them to
empower their capacity and unleash their potential.
